Hi, I’m Leslie Thomas! I was born in Texas, but relocated to Indiana in my younger teenage years. I am recently a first time mom to a perfect baby boy, and love every minute of motherhood. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science from Purdue University-Northwest and a Phlebotomy certification. I have two years of experience assisting in Pre-K to first grade classrooms, one year assisting in elementary gym classes, one year volunteering at Lurie Children’s hospital in Chicago, and one year working one on one with those who have physical and cognitive disabilities.
I have always had a passion for working with children, and I am excited in following my dreams in the world of education. The Montessori teaching style is something I strongly believe in. I have seen children of all ages and in multiple settings, each child is very unique so they need an education where they have their own learning style met along with their own mental, emotional, and physical needs met as well. I’m often known for having a warm and calming personality which is something I hope all the children feel in my classroom.
In my free time you will find me enjoying the outdoors no matter the season, spending time with my family, and shopping. I am looking forward to meeting all children and their parents, and continuing my journey at VMS!
